Homemade Pickles

These pickles were sent in the mail with the idea that they would have a good five days in flight to pickle. Of course I didn't send them until two days after I made them, so they pickled in seven days. I did make a jar for myself to try, and after about four days (I was anxious) I tasted them and they were perfectly crunchy pickles!

Grilled Pizza

A recent taste of some amazing brick oven pizza with a thin and crispy crust left my mouth watering for more. As usual I didn't just want more, I wanted to learn how to make more so I can always rely on my own hands to create whatever I crave... so that's what I did!

Homemade Spaghetti with Meatless Meatballs

I am now convinced that any Italian food enthusiast should try making their own pasta from scratch at least once! I recently got a pasta maker which not only makes the process a whole lot quicker, but now I can make spaghetti and angel hair... though a pasta maker is not entirely necessary.

Sweet Whole Wheat

Want to know what's in this bread...?

Quinoa and butter

A random assortment of ingredients and access to a friend's food processor left me mulling over my few options for baking. I had no sugar and no flour around (it's bad, I know), and since I had not planned on baking in these few free moments I happened upon, I was not about to waste them by running out to get ingredients. Food processor + quinoa = quinoa flour.  I guess necessity really is the mother of invention...
