Simplicious Magazine

As you may have seen in recent posts, I have been testing recipes and photographing for Simplicious Magazine, seen in the photos below.  The recipes I tested have been incredibly delicious, so check out the links below to try them for yourself!

Rosemary and Orange French Toast (recipe by Sara Dunberg)

Poached Salmon with Feta Dill Caper Sauce

Summer Fruit Tarts with Nut Crusts (recipe adapted from Bon Appetit by Karleen Armstrong)

Quick Pasta

A simple garden pasta for those days when cooking just seems like a burden...

Black Bean & Sweet Potato Dip

The power was out for three days after a storm, which is not an incredibly long period of time, but it feels like it when the thermometer outside is hitting numbers of up to 100ยบ F. Luckily the fridge was kept cool via generator, but that was the only thing keeping cool. So when the power came back on just two hours before I was supposed to go to a friend's for a dinner get-together, I took immediate advantage of two essential kitchen items for this quick appetizer: a food processor and the oven.

Making Messes

I've been making my fair share of kitchen messes this week. While I haven't gotten around to loading photos of some recipes I've been working on lately, I can show you what my kitchen looks like every couple days...

Why? Because I have been testing recipes, styling, and photographing for a recipe site under redesign, which I will reveal soon enough when the site has  re-launched. I'm very excited to see how things turn out, it sounds like there are a lot of talented people involved, and I would know... I have been making their recipes. There are so many interesting flavor combinations to be revealed that take advantage of spices and herbs and use them in new, innovative ways, I can't wait to share once the site is up!
